Engagement sessions are literally the best!! As a photographer, I always encourage my couples to bring personal touches that showcase their relationship and make it truly unique. I’ve seen everything from Hot Cheetos, to champagne pops, and even romantic picnics. I’ve even had shoots take place in a college classroom, it was where my clients had met – how sweet!! I love when clients really take an important piece of their relationship or a special memory and incorporate it into their session. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with ways to personalize your engagement session, but don’t worry, I got you!

If you’re looking for engagement photo personalization inspo here are a few of my favorites!

1. Champagne Pop

A great way to bring some excitement to the session is a bottle of champagne! Pop a bottle of bubbles or you can bring your favorite cocktail to toast! These make for adorable photos, plus you are celebrating after all!

2. Pets

Bring on allllll the furry friends! I absolutely LOVE when clients bring their pets along, we all know how important they are to our lives and they always help relieve any nerves. Just bring along some treats for your fur baby and we can get some adorable photos and memories.

3. Make It A Date

It’s that simple…make it a date! You could bring a picnic, a camera, or even a fun game to play together! Make it unique to what you both love and something you enjoy doing together. By doing this you get alllll the candid and genuine memories captured forever.

4. Food!

Get food together! Whether it’s a fun snack to share like pizza or some ice cream, getting something to share together can make it so much fun. This is especially helpful if you’re unsure of what to do in front of the camera and get nervous, it gives you something to do. Plus… everyone gets excited around food!

5. Location

Location can be a key influence in your engagement photos. Let your environment speak for itself! Maybe you met at college, at the gym, or on a hike. If there is an important location that your relationship revolves around or holds a special memory, let’s go there! For example, these two below met in their college classroom!

Kind Words

” We don’t even know where to begin in our review of Sam for our engagement and wedding photography. She is absolutely phenomenal – hands down our favorite wedding vendor. Her sweet and bubbly personality made it easy for us to be ourselves. This in combination with her special ability to capture the perfect, emotion-filled moment makes her worth every penny. She responses prompting to emails and delivered both of our “sneak peeks” in record time. We received more wedding photos back than we could ever dream of, each snapshotting a precious moment we will now never forget. If you want a talented, dedicated and passionate photographer – choose Sam. ” – Daly + Tyler
